Accessibility
01
Our commitment
Accessibility is not an add-on for a body whose purpose is the rehabilitation of disability — it is a matter of principle. The International Rehabilitation Workforce Alliance is committed to making irwfa.org usable by the widest possible range of people, including those who use assistive technologies.
02
The standard we work to
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we are guided by the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and India’s Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
03
Measures we take
- Semantic, structured HTML with a logical heading order and a "skip to content" link;
- Strong colour contrast and a restrained, legible black-and-white type system;
- Full keyboard operability, visible focus, and accessible names for interactive elements;
- Text alternatives for meaningful images, and content that does not rely on colour alone;
- A responsive layout that adapts to screen size and supports text resizing.
04
Known limitations
The Alliance is in its establishment period and the site continues to evolve. Some content may not yet fully meet our target, and third-party components may have limitations outside our control. Where we become aware of a barrier, we work to remove it.
05
Feedback & assistance
If you encounter a barrier, or need information from this site in an alternative format, please tell us — we treat accessibility feedback as a priority and will provide the information you need by another means.
