Research & Evidence

A standard proven, not asserted.

The Research Council is one of the three Councils that power the Alliance — it stewards a governed evidence commons and proves the standard. The Alliance's anchor measure, AbilityScore®, is independently validated and published.

AbilityScore®, the Alliance’s 0–1000 developmental measure, benchmarked against Vineland-3, CARS-2, Bayley-4 and ABAS-3 by an independent contract research organisation — n = 300, with n = 60 test–retest. Methodology and validation are published openly, under CC-BY, on Zenodo.

01 The validation

AbilityScore®, validated against the field's established instruments.

Benchmarked against the instruments clinicians already trust — independently, and published for anyone to check.

AbilityScore® — the 0–1000 developmental measure built by the Alliance's Anchor — was validated by an independent contract research organisation against the instruments clinicians already trust.

  • Comparators — Vineland-3, CARS-2, Bayley-4 and ABAS-3 — the established standards in developmental assessment.
  • Sample & CRO — n = 300, with n = 60 test–retest; independent CRO Manentia Research; Protocol BHCL-VAL-2026-001.
  • Methodology — 25 assessments, 339 skills, 148 abilities — a structured, computational developmental measure.
  • Published & citable — two peer-anchored preprints on Zenodo, with DOIs, openly licensed.

03 The Research Council

A governed commons for the whole field.

The Research Council stewards a shared evidence base: joint ethics infrastructure, FAIR data principles, and Indian-author scholarship encouraged under the RCI's 2025 reforms. It is built on ICMR National Ethical Guidelines, GCP, the Declaration of Helsinki, CONSORT/STROBE/PRISMA, and HL7-FHIR, ICD-11, ICHI and SNOMED CT.

Member researchers and faculty co-publish into this commons — turning a fragmented field into one that learns from itself at national scale.

70+ centres · 25M+ sessions · 700+ therapists
AbilityScore® r = 0.91 · ICC = 0.88 · 1−MAPE = 0.93

Figures are forward-facing operational metrics as of May 2026; patent references are to international (PCT) applications, not granted patents; “first/only” is stated to our knowledge as of May 2026. Consortium seats are designated chairs pending formal appointment. IRWFA complements the Rehabilitation Council of India and does not supplant it; recognitions are in process.
